LIP LIFT
Restoring or creating harmonious proportions to the lip may help to convey the appearance of youth, sensuality, and emotion. Oftentimes, it is an alternative to lip filler for the right patient, and can restore balance without the need for repeat filler treatments. This procedure is frequently performed under local anesthesia in our office surgery suite, and recovery is straightforward. Dr. Givens is Eastern Iowa's lip lift specialist.

The lip lift is frequently performed under local anesthesia in the office surgical suite. It involves a small incision hidden along the base of the nose. Precise geometry is used in order to tailor the outcome. Depending on the patient's goals, less skin may be removed to simply roll the lip outward, recreating the appearance of a youthful lip. Alternatively, more tissue may be removed to create "dental show".
A corner lift uses a small incision at the corner of the mouth to elevate the corners of the mouth, improving a downturned or "sad" appearance. In both cases, the incisions heal beautifully and are well hidden when healed.
Healing from a lip lift, CUPID Lift, or Corner lift is straightforward. Mild bruising and swelling is expected for less than a week. Patients frequently choose to wear a surgical mask to hide their incisions during the healing process.
Dr. Givens has been trained by Dr. Ben Talei, the inventor of the CUPID lift algorithm, and is licensed to use the term CUPID lift which is trademarked.
