ACHIEVING A SNATCHED JAWLINE WITH MyEllevate®
MyEllevate uses a patented, light-guided suture system that provides Dr. Givens the ability to elevate tissue and muscle without surgery. Instead of making incisions and repositioning muscles, Dr. Givens can use MyEllevate to weave a suture beneath the skin on the jawline with a single continuous thread. Dr. Givens then ties the suture thread to pull back the glands and muscles that are making the jawline and neck sag.
The MyEllevate procedure takes only one hour to perform and typically has about a one-week recovery—far less downtime than alternatives such as traditional surgical neck lifts and lower facelifts. Small access points heal seamlessly and are discreetly located behind the ears and under the jawline.
If you would like to learn more about this exciting new procedure, we encourage you to schedule a consultation with Dr. Givens. During your consultation, Dr. Givens will go over options for facial rejuvenation and see what treatment or procedure will work best to meet your desired outcome. HOW LONG IS THE MyEllevate PROCEDURE?
For most patients, MyEllevate® takes less than one hour to perform. There is generally very little, if any, bruising and swelling and most people can return to normal activities within a few days.
WHAT IS THE MyEllevate PROCEDURE LIKE?
The MyEllevate procedure is performed in our office using local anesthesia. Once you’re comfortable, all areas will be cleaned for the procedure. We treat this procedure using a sterile technique similar to that used during neck lifts. The vertical neck (platysma) bands are released, and the ICLED® light-guided sutures are placed using a thin, hollow needle called a cannula. Once placed, these sutures will be positioned to gently lift the soft tissues around your neck and jaw to create a defined (“snatched”) jawline. Your neck and jaw will be wrapped with a dressing at the end of your procedure.
WHAT IS THE MyEllevate RECOVERY LIKE?
Because the MyEllevate procedure is nonsurgical and minimally invasive, patients in Dubuque are able to return home immediately following treatment. The in-office sedation requires a driver to and from your appointment. While mild redness, swelling, and bruising are to be expected, these side effects typically resolve on their own within a few days of treatment. A compressive dressing (chin strap) and neck brace are worn continuously for three days. The neck brace is worn any time you may be looking down (reading, watching TV, looking at a computer or phone) over the ten days following your procedure. A tight feeling is normal for the first 2-3 weeks following the procedure. While some results will be visible immediately, ultimate results will appear and continue to improve once all swelling subsides about three to six weeks following treatment.
