Sculptra Dubuque Injectables to reduce fine lines and wrinkles

SCULPTRA® AESTHETIC

As we age, we lose collagen, which acts as the skin’s support structure and helps maintain its shape. In fact, 70% of our skin is composed of collagen, and collagen loss causes the skin to lose its elasticity and moisture. Sculptra Aesthetic helps treat the underlying cause of facial aging — the loss of collagen. In doing so, it subtly and gradually adds volume that lifts the soft tissues and plumps skin from within.

Sculptra Aesthetic is made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biodegradable substance that has been proven safe and has been used in medical products, including dissolvable sutures, for more than 30 years.

Once injected Sculptra Aesthetic begins working with your body deep within the dermis layer of skin to help stimulate your skin’s own natural collagen production over time, helping to reinforce skin’s inner structure and increase facial volume that has been lost due to aging.

WHAT IS SCULPTRA?

How does Sculptra work?

Sculptra works gradually and leads to a subtle yet noticeable improvement in skin volume. The full treatment includes three injection sessions over a few months. With each session, the active ingredient (poly-L-lactic acid) is injected into the skin which replaces lost collagen and also encourages natural collagen production for long-lasting, natural-looking results that last up to two years. Because its effects are gradual, and because the skin is plumped by the body's own natural 'lifter,' the results are matchless in terms of naturalness of appearance.

What is Sculptra made out of?

Sculptra's active ingredient poly-L-lactic acid is a biocompatible and biodegradable synthetic compound. Once injected, it is absorbed into the body without any reactions and starts to work within the deep dermis, fortifying and reinforcing the foundation of skin structure. A safe and stable compound, poly-L-lactic acid has numerous applications in medicine and has been used for many years. There's absolutely nothing to worry about!

How can Sculptra be used?

Faces Medspa's Sculptra Aesthetic® treatment is one of the gold standards of age-defying solutions for subtle sophistication. It's an injectable treatment that delivers real results. Many consider its 'look' to be more refined, compared to dermal fillers that may look somewhat artificial (especially if administered improperly.) Rather than plump up the skin with substances that lose potency over time, the Sculptra approach is to counter and reverse the problem, not mask it.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What parts of the face does Sculptra treat?

Sculptra helps to correct skin depressions, such as in skin creases, wrinkles, folds, scars, and helps combat skin aging.

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is a dermal injectable that stimulates the body to create more collagen, creating a more youthful, natural, and refreshed appearance. This innovative product is made of synthetic, biocompatible material known as poly-L-lactic acid. The body’s collagen production decreases as we age. This contributes to the formation of fine lines, wrinkles, and hollow areas of the face. Sculptra at Faces Medspa in Dubuque is used to add volume and thicken the skin in the areas of your face that you wish to treat.

Are the results from Sculptra immediate?

No. Because Sculptra targets the underlying causes of the signs of facial aging, it can give you noticeable results that emerge subtly. Because results happen gradually, you may notice subtle reductions in the appearance of facial wrinkles and folds.

Why would I choose Sculptra over a dermal filler?

Sculptra is slightly different than dermal filler products. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers such as Restylane® and Juvederm®, it is formulated with poly-l-lactic acid to work within your skin to stimulate collagen growth and restore lost facial volume over time. The results from a Sculptra procedure may last up to two years.

How many Sculptra treatments will I need?

Sculptra usually requires at least 3 treatments each administered about 4 weeks apart. It comes in vials, and the number of vials needed varies by each individual patient. At Faces Medspa we require a consultation prior to treatment. During that consultation, we will complete a facial evaluation and determine the appropriate treatment plan.

When will I see my Sculptra results?

Noticeable changes from a Sculptra procedure are very gradual. Most patients report that they look the same a few days after treatment (which is normal and temporary). Because changes take place over time, you’ll see subtle, yet noticeable, results in the reduction of facial wrinkles and folds by comparing images before treatment and a couple months following your final treatment. The beauty of Sculptra is that results are natural and can last for more than two years.
